Lesson #1: Always backup your blog.
Lesson #2: Read the docs before installing any plugin.
Lesson #3: Don’t use AskApache Password Protect plugin.
Thanks to Tom’s help, the stupid plugin added a new .htaccess file to my wp-admin folder and redirected my dashboard page to some unknown page. Not quite sure what the plugin was really supposed to do, but it certainly prevents any possible hackers from accessing my dashboard, including myself!
Everything is back to normal now.
