Design Highslide template is a simple design that does not require flash to be installed. The default view shows small squared thumbnails that you can zoom in and out to full-size by clicking on the thumbnails. You also can move the full-size image around and zoom in a different image, although there’s really not much room to have more than one full-size image on display. 7
Loading speed This template does not require flash so the default thumbnail view loads pretty quick, then loads individual full-size images as you click them. 8
Number of clicks Click a thumbnail to zoom in to full-size view. Click again to zoom out or move the full-size image around. Click another thumbnail to zoom in. And click yet another one to zoom in another image. Then you have click all of the full-size images to zoom back out. That’s a lot of clicking. Or you could just zoom in on one image and use the keyboard to navigate through the images in full-size. 5
Browsing efficiency Click on a thumbnail to zoom in, then use the left/right key to navigate through the images efficiently. However, the full-size image still zooms in and out as you navigate (without the clicking) and might make you a little dizzy. 6
Image size The full-size image is the size of the image you set when generating the photo gallery, so if you set image resolution at 800×600, landscape images cover most of the browser window and portrait images cover about half. 7
Caption Caption appears when you hover the mouse over each thumbnail but does not appear on the rest of the template or in full-size images. 4
Customizable This template is HTML-based so you can customize most of the template including photo title, thumbnail size, and description. You also can customize the CSS stylesheet that comes with the template. 8
Embed in blogs The default thumbnail images adjust automatically to your monitor’s resolution, however this feature doesn’t appear to work well when you embed the photo gallery inside a blog. 3
Browser-friendly

This template works well with both IE and Firefox.

10
Downloadable images You can download both thumbnails as well as full-size images. –

Overall

Overall, Highslide is a simple template that looks clean and is easy to view and navigate through images.
