I don’t usually watch sports games but since I live in China, I’ve caught the Olympic fever!

Yesterday, I watched the women’s 48kg weightlifting and was quite amused. When I started watching the event, I was wondering why there weren’t any American women competing in this event. Then I realized that 48kg translates to less than 105 pounds! With all their muscle weight, the women competing in this event must be under 5 feet tall! Can you imagine these petite women lifting 250 pounds of weight?! It’s no wonder there weren’t any American women on the team. Chen Xiexia won the gold medal by lifting 117kg (258 pounds)!

This afternoon, I watched the women’s archery. The Korean team is AMAZING! They average 9 points per shot!

Currently, I’m watching the U.S. vs China basketball game and we’re halfway through the game. It’s an exciting game although the Chinese team is way behind. Did they ever stand a chance? Not really but I’m cheering for the Chinese team anyway.
