Several months ago, I wrote an article called “The Guitar Hero Robot Using NI LabVIEW and FPGA.” That article is one of my most popular posts on this blog. In the article, I briefly explained the technology behind this robot (called Slashbot) that plays a near-perfect score of Guitar Hero on expert mode! Slashbot uses National Instruments technology, LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA!
Well, I finally got myself a 100% genuine Les Paul guitar and the Guitar Hero III game for the Nintendo Wii, thanks to a colleague from work!
I’ve been playing the game for a few weeks now. I started on Medium and finished all 42 songs! Then I played a few Hard songs and decided to skip right to Expert. By golly, Expert is insanely difficult!
After practicing “Talk Dirty to Me” for an hour straight (driving my husband crazy), I was able to finish the song with 5 starsI And I think my accuracy was around 92%, which reminded me of Slashbot, a robot that can score an accuracy of 96-97%! Holy smokes! And I’m the real musician…
Anyway… Slashbot was featured during NI Week (2008) several weeks ago. Check out the video!
