About Me

susan.jpgWelcome to Shanghai Tech Writer! My name is Susan Wu and I’m a technical writer at National Instruments in Shanghai, China. By day I write documentation for LabVIEW, NI’s flagship product. By night I write about topics related to technology, technical writing, and living/working in Shanghai. This blog is just one of many blogs about the technical writing profession, but uniquely one of the few, if not the only one, in Shanghai/China. I also have a family/personal blog and a health-related blog.

Prior to being a technical writer, I was the technology coordinator and a teacher at a bilingual school in Shanghai.

In my past life, I was a musician and a concert pianist. Sadly, that didn’t pay the bills so I have since adopted the new life as a technologist. In other words, I love reading about geeky stuff and sharing that knowledge with people, whether in the form of writing or teaching.

If you have any questions about technical writing, me, National Instruments, or if you are interested in visiting Shanghai, do some recruiting, post a job ad, write a guest post on this blog, and/or meet other technical communicators here, feel free to send me a message using the Contact Me page.
